“You can't tell what's inside a person's heart until
you truly know them.” —Belle to Rumplestiltskin
Belle's
Character
With The Dark Curse lifted, Belle regained her memories and was overjoyed to be reunited with her beloved Rumplestiltskin, known in Storybrooke as Mr. Gold. But he brought magic to the town and she worried that the corrupting influence of magical power would lead him back down a dark path which she could not follow. She convinced him to go against his darker instincts, and seemed to be coaxing the good in him to the surface, until she was shot by Captain Hook and lost her true memories. Mr. Gold was heartbroken, but then Regina made matters worse by giving Belle cursed memories of an identity named Lacey—a woman with a pretty serious dark side. Gold began to slip back into his old ways with Lacey gleefully encouraging him until her true memories were restored. Now that Henry’s been kidnapped, Gold has entrusted Belle with a magic spell that will once again hide Storybrooke, keeping away any more sinister agents who may be lurking in our world. She can only hope that her true love returns to her from a desperate mission to save Henry.
